Growth constraints for software industry : Mexico’s perspective
Subject(s): Summary: In 2002 Mexico launched a program for the development of the software industry (PROSOFT), an additional government strategy to recover national competitiveness and growth, which comes as a 50 year belated reaction aiming to match India’s own success. This paper comments both countries software industries characteristics and their main constraints for growth. Mexican software industry growth restrictions related to the education system are analyzed, which led to the point of crucial priorities for the federal government agencies involved.
